As part of the language revitalisation strategy Hauā Reo Hauā Tangata, Ngāti Hauā is holding a Kura Reo over a period of three days from Monday 5th October to Wednesday 7th of October 2020.
As a result of COVID-19 and the current Alert Level 2 status for the Waikato, we have decided this year to run the Kura Reo in accordance with Level 2 guidelines. The health and well being of our iwi is of paramount importance and has been a key factor in making this decision. Therefore, we will be running a series of wānanga that will accommodate a maximum of 100 people. If there is a move to Alert Level 1, we will still proceed with this arrangement.
We strongly believe that we can facilitate a successful and amazing kaupapa that will still contribute to your reo journey.
The Kura Reo has essentially been separated into three one-day wānanga (with each day dedicated to a certain level of reo and age group) as outlined below: This will allow us to safely manage the 100 person limit for events while still catering to all your reo needs.
In essence their will be three days of the Kura Reo however you are only required to attend 1 of those days. You will attend the day that you think best suits your reo ability for your development.
The registration form asks you to select which day you will attend depending on your level of proficiency and you will be able to attend that day only.
